Bishop McElroy from San Diego came to St. Mary’s University to talk about what was going on with the Amazonian Synod that was happening in Rome. He discussed pressing matters in the Amazon such as making women deacons and married men priests as well as an alternative Eucharistic host that won’t degrade in the amazonian environment. He then went on to talk about how his diocese in San Diego is having a synod to talk about the young adult community. He explains the importance of listening like a synod does and how if we adapt the way we listen than we will be able to identify the problems and find solutions better.
